SOLID GOLD: SPOTLIGHT ON NAILS AT SUNO
February 9, 2013 / Ruby WarringtonNeat, natural nails were painted with 24-carat gold leaf lacquer by Rococo at Suno’s baroque inspired show. Designed to pick up on gold accents sprinkled across the collection, the flecks of precious metal were applied over a simple nail oil - while MAC technicians backstage explained that the lacquer also looks great over dark rouge noir, or nude summer shades. Retailing at $48 a bottle the product itself sure ain’t cheap, but it’s also an investment. It’s value fluctuates with the market price of gold. Otherwise, hair and make-up was kept to a bare, almost Amish, minimum, lending the opulent collection a girly, folkish appeal.
