Jeremy Scott’s Spring 2013 beauty inspiration fused his signature club kid look with a hint of Arabian nights. For the hair, Eugene Solomon for Wella created a tight bun on the crown of the models’ heads that he described as “reminiscent of Sade.” Over the bun, he attached a braided piece from a “cheap store on Broadway” and finished off the ‘do with a shimmer spray.
“This look needs to be very well done, there’s no lack of perfection in this hairstyle, it has to be exactly the way we want it,” said Solomon. “Every hair dresser should be able to do this and very few actually can. It’s about something so simple and so strong, there’s only one way to do it properly.”
MAC Cosmetics artist Kabuki created his “Arabian Chic” look with a rich, sexy palette of jewel tones colors.
“I didn’t really get a specific direction but saw that the clothes are very rich, with animal prints and gold floaty things, we so did a smokey eye and a mirage of colors swirled around,” said Kabuki. “We did a midnight metallic blue on the top of the lid and a hit of gold shadow and glitter. It was a large shape that reads as graphic from a distance, but closer, it’s glamorous makeup.”
